The lessons are for 30 minutes once a week and the cost is £19. Your registration is ongoing, so please remember that if you need to stop having lessons with us, you need to give us a month's notice. The progress the students make depends on each individual and on the time they spend at home exploring their instrument and practicing their music. Our teachers have many tips and suggestions to support the children and the parents with the weekly practice.
We would prefer if you made a monthly payment. On you registration form you need to mark the date that you will be making your payment.
Yes, the students need an instrument to practice at home. We can help you make the right choice for your first piano or violin.
For the violin, Helen Butterfield the violin teacher, offers a rental scheme for £10 a term plus £20 refundable deposit at the end of the rental period.
Yes, you will still need to pay for that lesson. Our teachers will try to cover your missed lesson if they have availability, but this is not guranteed.
The teacher will offer you an alternative cover up lesson as soon as possible.
Yes, please. If possible, let us know as soon as you can that you will not be able to make it for lesson. In that way we will be able to cover up someone's missed lesson. Please note , that if you don't call us at all or call us after the lesson's time, we will not be able to offer you a cover up lesson and you will need to pay for the lesson you missed.
Just as schools have different Year Groups, music education has Music Grades. Armonia is a Digital Exam Centre with the Trinity College of London. Their grading system starts with the Initial, and then Grade 1 up to Grade 8. These Grades provide a clear framework of the level at which students are working. However, taking the Graded exams for each level is not compulsory. A discussion with the teacher will help you make the right decision about whether the exams are the best option for your child. The Graded exams include a video recording of the pieces the student has prepared which will be sent to Trinity College of London for marking.
Your teacher will suggest the books you need to buy, which you can find online. Alternatively we might have some books in stock and you can buy your books from us.
Even though it is not compulsory, the students are encouraged to attend the Music Theory class or work on their Music Theory books at their own time. This will give them a better understanding of the music they play.
